About Us

Bonnets and Breeches Dance Society was formed in January 2022. Since then, we have grown into a large group with over 20 members.

The group specialises in dances from the 1650s up to 1900, covering the Georgian, Regency and Victorian eras. Therefore, if you enjoy Jane Austen, Poldark, or Bridgerton then this dancing will be right up your street!

We are led by our two fantastic dance mistresses, Lynne Spicer and Vicky Brown, who are both very experienced in teaching and calling the dances. All our dances are suitable for both beginners and those wishing to improve their historical dancing skills.

We meet every Sunday evening in Bingham from 7-9pm and often learn new dances whilst also recapping those that we have done before. The sessions are therefore suitable for newcomers and all levels of dancing.

Bonnets and Breeches are also available to book for events. We are thrilled to have been booked for several summer festivals, historical events and displays, such as at Belvoir Castle and the Hucknall Byron Festival. Please do get in touch if you would like to book us for an event.
